After several more months of taking more pain medication I found a neurosurgeon in 2010 to remove the first implant/screws and redo the spinal fusion. Dr. David Jones did a wonderful job and my spinal fusion healed within 1 year. However, my lower back remained in chronic pain and I relied on pain medication.
In 2008, I ruptured my L5-S1 disc. In 2009 a local orthopedic surgeon in Greensboro, NC told me I needed surgery (Spinal Fusion) in order to place an implant in my L5-S1 to alleviate the pain of “bone on bone” in my lower back. I had to take pain medication every day for 5 weeks until the day I had my surgery. 6 months after the surgery on my L5-S1, both the implant and the screws came apart and the botched surgery created much greater pain compared to the day I ruptured my disc.
In November 2011, I was referred to the Moses Cone Pain Management Center to receive injections of medicine administered into my lower back. I was told that 7 injections would cure the chronic pain I had lived with for the past 2 years. However, after the 7 injections were complete, I still required pain medication and this eventually had a negative impact on my personal life and my career.
I almost gave up telling myself, “I’m not going to live with this horrible pain for the rest of my life.” A few days later, a good friend and neighbor told me about Dr. Williams. He said, “Jack, Dr. Williams may be able to help you with your lower back pain.” I told my neighbor I would call Dr. Williams office since he helped my neighbor with his chronic back pain.
The next day I made an appointment with Dr. Williams for the following day. I brought my MRI photos and after having a long discussion with Dr. Williams he told me he would be able to help me with my chronic back pain. I agreed with him I needed to take an aggressive treatment plan which consisted of alignments, therapy and laser treatments in order to soften the scar tissue from both of my spinal fusion surgeries.
From January 2012 to March 2012 I followed an aggressive, personalized treatment plan Dr. Williams personally designed for me. Adhering to everything both Dr. Williams and Dr. Richardson told me to do during this time frame my back feels FANTASTIC.
I am now able to do yard and lawn work, resume my career full-time, work out at the gym, play tennis and simply live the lifestyle I had dreamed about for over 2 years.
The entire Williams Chiropractic staff makes me feel at home due to their knowledge, kindness and passion for their careers. In short, Williams Chiropractic & Decompression Center has renewed my life far better than I ever expected. I’m happy, full of life and I give thanks to God for Williams Chiropractic & Decompression Center.
